Hany Rashwan is Co-Founder of 21.co. He is a serial entrepreneur and Forbes 30 Under 30 alum. He previously founded social commerce company, Ribbon, and enterprise fintech company, Payout. Hany was born and raised in Egypt and the United States and attended Columbia University where he graduated with a BA.
Ophelia Snyder
Ophelia Snyder is the Co-Founder of 21.co. She began her career working in venture capital and then investment banking which led her into crypto. Ophelia is an EY Entrepreneurial Winning Woman EMEIA, Forbes 30 Under 30 alum, and was named on Bilanz's Top 100 Bankers of Switzerland list. She was born and raised in Italy and the United States and attended Stanford University.
Russell Barlow
Russell Barlow is CEO at 21Shares, bringing over 25 years of experience in regulated asset management. Previously, he was the Global Head of Multi-Asset and Alternative Investment Solutions at Abrdn plc, where he managed a team of over 110 people across three continents and assets exceeding $250bn, including hedge funds, private credit, private equity, property, infrastructure, real assets, and more. Russell has designed, launched, and managed investment products and served as a Non-Executive Director of Archax, the UK’s only FCA-regulated digital asset exchange.
Duncan Moir
Duncan is the President of 21Shares. Previously, he led abrdn plc’s digital asset business, overseeing investment products, blockchain applications, and strategic investments. Duncan is an independent board member of Hedera Hashgraph LLC and advisor to web3 companies. A graduate of the University of Strathclyde with a BA in Economics, he is also a CFA and CAIA charter holder.
Edel Bashir
Edel joined 21Shares as Chief Operating Officer (COO), bringing over 20 years of experience in the asset management industry. Previously, Edel served as COO for Alternative and Multi-Asset Investments at abrdn, where she led global non-investment teams across IT, HR, audit, legal, finance, compliance, and risk. Her expertise spans operational strategy, portfolio management, and hedge fund research. Edel holds a BSc in Finance from University College Cork, Ireland, and has held senior roles in Bermuda, Dublin, and Boston.
Andres Valencia
Andres Valencia is the Executive Vice President of Investment Management at 21Shares and part of the Executive Committee. He oversees Portfolio Management, Capital Markets, Operations, and Asset Management technology. Andres joined 21Shares in June 2021. Previously, he was VP of Operations at JPMorgan’s Beta Strategies Group, where he helped build the company’s ETF business. With over twelve years of ETF experience, he began his career in Asset Servicing at Bank of New York Mellon.
